Help Me Leave A Horrible, Terrifying Home

Hey as y'all know I’ve been living in a bad home, with two roommates who treat me Iike shit and one who physically threatens me. The home is infested with roaches and absolutely disgusting, not to mention a health hazard. I finally found a new place to live and it’s a good one but there’s a catch.

I have to move in by the 1st of July (Sunday) and I won’t get paid till the Tuesday after that (I talked to my boss and she agreed to pay me early but it still has to be on a Tuesday). If I can’t move in and pay the landlord on that Sunday I don’t get the place which means I’ll be homeless.

I’m have $450 right now and I need $675 to move in. So I only need $225! However I also have to pay a moving company to move my stuff and that could be anywhere from $150-$200. So I really need all the help I can get! Even $5!

This is my dad on my 21st birthday. It has taken him 21 years to call me his son. It’s taken 21 years for him to tell me that he’s proud of me. It’s taken him 21 years to tell me that he loves me. It’s taken us 21 years to love each other.

When I first came out as transgender my dad didn’t understand and so he reacted with hatred, anger and disappointment. He shamed me for my gender expression and we had to cut off communication.

But after my chest surgery in December of 2016 he finally opened his eyes to how happy I finally was. He made the decision to attend rehab and therapy to better himself and focus on his own mental health issues in order to restore our relationship.

Since my surgery he’s been nothing but loving and supportive. He always calls me Liam and uses the correct pronouns. He calls me his son and we’re more connected now then ever.

In these photos I’m opening a birthday present from my dad. His present was a black ball cap that read “The Jet-Lag Club”. He explained that it was a bar in Japan only for international flight crews. A bar that his father had gone to and he had frequently gone to as well. He got the hat from being such a frequent customer, but it has closed since and now there is no possible was to get one of these hats. He told me it’s his most prized possession. And then he handed it to me and said…

“It’s yours now. It’s tradition, from father to son.”

Remember that people can grow and change. They can accept and love even after hatred emerged. Remember that people can see who you are. Don’t give up just yet, things can change and they can get better.

they’re asking you to disclose if you’re transgender. legally, they can’t ask or consider someone’s gender in hiring someone, so they get around it by giving you the option of telling them yourself. if you “volunteer” the information, that’s legal.

its like when they try to figure out if you’re poor by asking if you have “reliable transportation,” hoping that ppl will explain that they dont have a car without actually being asked. things like that.

its a scummy thing to do, especially in this case where theyre presenting it like a “diversity” thing.

My managers have personally told people that anyone who puts anything like that outside of just “male or female” gets their application tossed immediately.
Btw if an interviewer asks if you have reliable transportation, don’t say anything but “yes I do” that’s it!!!!! Don’t say another word don’t say you take the bus or walk or bike or get rides or uber don’t say anything!!!!! Just say yes and that is it they cannot require any sort of proof of transportation.

I just took a class where one of the things we had to go over was interviewing to hire. 

The entire process was super gross and made me feel scummy and unethical. SO!

Here is an article (that we used in class) that covers 30 Interview Questions Potential Employers are Not Allowed To Ask You (and what they might ask you instead). 

Be on the look out for any of these questions.

but also he’s like 21??? im 21 and im incredibly stupid all the time. tom’s also gonna be incredibly stupid because like……. people in their early 20s….. are stupid…. and say stupid shit…. and if you hold them to an impossibly high standard…. they will fail you…. no matter how good their intentions are….
